Kolordusu, Romanya Cephesi’ndeki askeri harekâta katıldı. 6 Aralık 1916’da Bükreş işgal edildi ve Romanya Askeri İdaresi kurularak başına Osman Nizami Paşa getirildi. Tasvir-i Efkâr gazetesinin Aralık 1916’da Romanya Cephesi’ne gönderdiği yazar Ahmet Rasim, Romanya Mektupları’nda Sofya, Varna ve İbrail üzerinden Bükreş’e yaptığı yolculukta uğradığı istasyon ve yerleşim yerlerindeki gözlemlerini, cephe gerisindeki halkın durumunu ve cephe izlenimlerini aktarmaktadır.
