Answer: In theory, nothing wrong. Salt will not cause issues with the stainless steel blade, despite thoughts to the opposite. However, the handles claim to be wood, so if you do wash them in a dishwasher, get them out when the cycle is finished and make sure to dry. -

Can they go in dishwasher or will they rust up?
Answer: I have put them in the dishwasher & they don't rust but I would recommend you wash them under the tap as the salt in the dishwasher tablet will dull the blade over time. -

This Cleaver knife looks good, I want to buy it for my friend. Is it sharp enough?
Answer: Yes! The knife blades are made of Japanese 5Cr15Mov steel, and with 2.2mm ultra-thin sharp blade and a 15° cutting angle on both sides, so it will be very sharp. -
