  • Question: Can the auto siphon be used for beer and wine making?

    Answer: Yes, the auto siphon is designed for both beer and wine making purposes.
  • Question: Is the tubing BPA free and non-toxic?

    Answer: Yes, the tubing is BPA free and safe for multiple purposes including beer/wine making and food processing.
  • Question: Is the brush included for cleaning the siphon?

    Answer: No, the brush is not included in this set but it can be purchased separately.
  • Question: Could you tell me how long the actual siphon part is?

    Answer: The actual siphon is about one foot long maybe a little less and is on the thin side. The tubing is about 6 feet.
  • Question: How does it work having trouble getting vacuum pump to work for me

    Answer: First, make sure that the end of the tubing is open and that you do not have a bottle filler or other valve attached that may be blocking the flow. Then, with the racking cane pulled up to the top of the auto-siphon, insert the siphon into your container. The liquid should automatically begin filling up in the body of the siphon. Then, push down the racking all way to push the liquid up the racking cane. This may take 2 or 3 more full pumps to get enough volume to begin filling the tubing and get the siphon started. Do not hesitate between pumps to maintain the flow and it will begin flowing naturally on its own once you get all the air out of the line. Test it with water first and make sure that the end of the tubing is below the level of the siphon intake tip.
  • Question: How do you turn off and on between filling 16 oz bottles up

    Answer: If you attached the tubing to a bottle filler, it works out great. The bottle filler has a tip that when you pull it up, it stops filling your bottles.
  • Question: What is the hose diameter?

    Answer: 3/8" outside diameter.
  • Question: What is the inside diameter of the tubing? Thanks.

    Answer: The tubing is 5/16"ID.
  • Question: Will this fit in a one-gallon carboy?

    Answer: Yes, it will definitely fit. I used it to siphon out my gallon carboy yesterday, it works wonderfully.
  • Question: Whatever Tube is in that picture is a Tube that cannot fit into the siphon. Can you use the siphon?

    Answer: The softer plastic tubing does not go in the siphon part. The tubing attaches to the bent portion of the tube that is inserted into the siphon. Pull up and down a few times to start the process. You can then move the liquid from one container to another. The container you are putting liquid into should be lower than the container with the liquid as this works on gravity.
  • Question: Is this dishwasher safe or must be hand washed?

    Answer: Hand wash. I just rinse mine as the wine is full of alcohol.
  • Question: Will the clamp hold the regular-sized siphon or only the mini?

    Answer: The clamp will work with the standard autosiphon and the mini version.
