Tamron Mirrorless Camera Lenses AFA065S700 Editorial Review
The Tamron 70-180mm F2.8 Di III VC VXD G2 for Sony E-Mount Full Frame Mirrorless Cameras has generated mixed responses from users. A seasoned professional commended the lens for delivering razor-sharp images at f/2.8 across its range and praised its light weight and compact size, stating it surpassed previous 70-200mm lenses. The 6-year warranty was also highlighted as a bonus, ultimately deeming it a keeper. However, another user reported significant issues with the lens in low-light indoor settings, noting a 60-70% rate of missed focus and slow, noisy focus motors. This user also expressed disappointment over the lens's performance compared to other lenses used in similar conditions. Another user praised the lens for its sharpness, speed, and macro capabilities but experienced a sudden malfunction after only two days of use, leaving them unable to continue shooting and necessitating a return. Despite the positive attributes, these reviews reflect recurring concerns such as missed focus in challenging lighting conditions and mechanical failures, raising reliability and functionality issues. These insights indicate the lens's potential limitations in demanding shooting scenarios. While the lens delivers exceptional performance in optimal conditions, it may struggle in low-light situations and is susceptible to premature malfunctions. As such, Prospective buyers should weigh these Considerations when evaluating the product.
