The digital caliper is a handy gadget to measure diameters and ply thicknesses. It comes in a form-fitted hardshell case and includes spare batteries. It is a budget tool and cannot compete with expensive brands with deadly precision, but for its price, it has exceeded the expectations of most users. It measures accurately, but readings are so finite that just adding a little pressure can cause a slight change in the values. This digital caliper can measure the inside of a ring, and its large jaws can measure the outside diameter of up to 3.0" with 1.5" deep jaws. Its small jaws can measure the inside diameter with a jaw depth of .625". Overall, it is an excellent tool for woodwork, arrow shaft measuring, and other projects where a high level of precision is not required.
