National Hardware Latches Editorial Review
The Stanley Hardware S748-261 CD1704 Pushbutton Latch in Black is a product that has garnered mixed reviews from customers. On one hand, many users find it to be of good quality and appreciate its ease of installation, particularly when used with compatible door closers for a seamless fit. One customer noted that it worked well after some minor adjustments, allowing it to function comparably to the original latch it replaced. However, several reviews highlight significant concerns regarding the durability of the product. Some users have experienced multiple breakages within a short period, with issues traceable to the latch's Construction and material quality. Particularly, there are complaints about a flimsy plastic component in the mechanism that can cause frustrating jams or failures, leading to the need for repeated replacements. One user expressed exasperation about the latch locking unexpectedly, particularly if installed on a right-hand door. Installation instructions have received mixed feedback as well; while some users found them easy to follow, others described them as confusing, particularly concerning the extra screws provided for different door widths. Overall, the reception of the Stanley Hardware Pushbutton Latch illustrates a compelling dichotomy: while some appreciate its functionality and compatibility with various installations, concerns over its durability and potentially faulty design impede its overall rating among users. **
