The NedFoss Survival Axe is a compact camping axe that comes with a leather sheath. It is durable, lightweight and great for emergencies. It has a blued steel finish that doesn't stick, and the 420HC has held a sharp cutting edge through many uses such as hardwood carving, chopping and sticking throws. The spike works well for sticking throws and can be used to rip up roots. Reviewers have found the spike to be rounded and dull, and the handle to be thicker on the 17-ounce version. The NedFoss MPH requires low maintenance as it holds its edge for a long time. It's been carried as a dangler from one's belt using its modified sheath attached to a paracord soft shackle. The hatchet is a great weight and size for backpacking, and some users carry it in their car along with their emergency kit. One user found the hatchet to be so sharp he nearly cut his finger off. Another user was disappointed to learn the knife designer "Ned Foss" was a company out of China that had done an excellent job branding. Despite this, the product is durable, and the leather sheath is nice.
