The product has a few shortcomings, including being wrapped in plastic wrap, handles that are shorter than expected, and a stiff hinge that keeps it open at any angle you put it. However, all these are minor compared to the excellent performance of the product. It will make small wafers (8” dia), so you'll end up with about 4 wafers per person. The product is best used over an open flame or gas burner, and you should heat both sides and flip often to keep it evenly warm. To prevent it from opening up while in use, you can use a hose clamp on the ends. This waffle maker is effortless to use, and it works great. It’s so easy to clean, and a single swipe of a dry paper towel will do even if you get salted caramel on it. One should be careful not to blast it as this will lead to a black, charred disk.
