The Signal Strength Meter with Adjustable Signal Strength is a useful tool for aligning your TV antenna for optimal reception. It supports both VHF and UHF signals, making it versatile for different channels. However, it does not work for satellite dish alignment. The device can be used with an antenna that has a rotator motor powered through the coax. While it does not have the option to dial in the MHz a station transmits at, the sensitivity can be adjusted to find the best signal. If your antenna is in the attic, you can install the meter at the antenna and watch the meter as you move the antenna around. It is not recommended to leave it inline as it does not boost the signal. This meter is specifically designed for testing the signal strength of OTA transmissions for a TV antenna and is not compatible with cable or satellite signals.
