Ancient & Classical Editorial Review
The Oxford Worlds Classics edition of Metamorphoses is a well-bound and well-translated version of this classic work. Although the translations are not perfect, they are still inspiring and enjoyable. The book is a primer of Greek mythology, with vignettes of different origins of plants and beings. The plots of many present-day books and movies can be traced to this ancient work, making it relevant even today. While some readers may find the Prose difficult to follow, the explanatory footnotes provided in the book make it accessible to most readers. Overall, this is a great edition of a classic work.
