The Zamberlan hiking boots are made in Italy from treated, heavy leather and are lined with gore-tex for protection from the cold. Customers have tested them in harsh Minnesota winters and found their feet were never cold. However, due to the heavy leather and gore-tex lining, they may not be ideal for hiking in very hot weather as sweat does not evaporate as fast as it would in a mesh shell boot. Customers who had issues with the original footbeds recommended replacing them with Superfeet brand footbeds.
