The LSI Logic SAS9211-8I is a PCIe 2.0 SAS/SATA controller card that provides users with eight internal ports with a data transfer rate of 6Gbps each, and an x8 PCIe 2.0 host interface that has a maximum bandwidth of 32Gbps. While the card may not be suitable for very high-performance storage use cases such as simultaneous continuous data transfers to all eight connected disks, it does work for several other scenarios. Reading and overlapping reads/writes should not be a problem as long as disk latency is Considered, however, writing multiple streams on a parallel disk might hit the limit of the 32Gbps bandwidth. According to the Q&A section, this card should work great with Linux and other operating systems, but it is not compatible with Mac computers.
