OREI Video Converters Editorial Review
The OREI 4K UltraHD Extender over HDBaseT is a reliable and capable extender for those looking to send HDMI signals over longer ranges. It supports 4K60, HDR-10 and HDCP 2.2, and 3D video. Additionally, it has IR signal capability which allows you to control your source device remotely. Although the units do get warm during use, it's normal and not too hot to handle. One issue that some users faced was a 'no signal' message when accessing Prime Video or Netflix through their DISH network box - the solution was to set the output resolution to something that's compatible with the TV instead of AUTO mode. The extender is not compatible with Crestron DM protocols but will work with shielded cat6 cables (although round cables are recommended). The dolby atmos source must be connected to AVR directly to support atmos. The local hdmi loop out does not support earc to a soundbar.
