The best thing about this wire is that it is treated with a lacquer that helps it retain its colour and also prevents tarnishing, fading or peeling off. This way, you don't have to worry about it turning your finger green or any maintenance. You can hammer, twist, crimp it easily to suit your needs. However, this lacquer prevents it from being antique so if that is what you need, you may want to go for raw copper wire. According to the FAQ responses, the Beadsmith Wire Elements are soft and not hard while the 20 gauge equivalent is 0.032" or 0.8128 mm. This wire is also nickel-free, great for making Rosaries and eye pins, and it works well for necklaces.
