DVD Editorial Review
The Dreamers (Original Uncut NC-17 Version) is a captivating 2003 erotic period drama directed by Bernardo Bertolucci, based on Gilbert Adair's novel "The Holy Innocents." Set against the backdrop of 1968 France during student protests, the film explores the complex relationships between three characters portrayed by Matthew Pitt, Louis Garrel, and the mesmerizing Eva Green. With its lush cinematography, impactful direction, and a mix of explicit eroticism, the movie delves deep into the themes of innocence and desire amidst political turmoil. While the film has garnered mixed critical reactions, many viewers appreciate its layered storytelling and the hypnotic performance by Eva Green. However, those sensitive to its graphic content should approach with caution.
