What is the expiration date?
Answer: Probably close to a year or more. My cat ate 1/4 cup every night along with 2 cans of wet cat food. He loved it. -

Although my cats need hairball formula, they are all 7+. Which is best?
Answer: I'm not a Vet, but I do breed longhair purebred cats. I can tell you that this is a HUGE favorite in my home for my kitties of all ages. I have more kitties than most homes would have and yet I find a hairball maybe twice a year. This and Royal Canin Queen are hands down the foods that my kitties choose. It is a food I recommend to my kitten buyers and have had kitties in their late teens and early 20's choose no other food than this. -

How large , soft is this kibble? My older cat has only a few teeth I need a soft chew for her. Thank you
Answer: My cat only has the tiny front teeth on top / bottom, and his bottom two fangs. He can eat this. he doesn't really chew it (because he doesn't have teeth), but this works well for him. He's also having fewer hairball issues. -

How is this food different from Purina ONE SmartBlend Hairball formula?
Answer: This is an ADULT cat food, not a kitten formulation. Between my son and myself, we have four cats, his two and my older cat were very finicky eaters, the baby would and still, at 19 months eats everything, including asparagus, broccoli, cantaloupe, green beans, and every form of protein put before him! rnIt was getting to the point they had quit eating the very expensive canned food, every non-grain quality dry food ever made and I was cooking more food for them than us. We talked to our vet and she recommended Purina Pro Plan FOCUS Hairball Management Chicken & Rice Formula Adult Dry Cat Food. I was skeptical at first, as I am in my 70's and remember when Purina didn't have a stellar reputation among show folks. I figured I didn't have much to lose, I am quite happy we made the decision to give it a try. We are at the six-month point and they still are eating it with gusto, an unheard of occurrence at this house! My older cat has an occasional occurrence of hairball cough-up, but nothing like before and my sons' long hair has had none since we started with this food. A win-win for all of us! -

How good is this for hairballs? My poor kitty cat hacks up some big hairballs and for some reason is getting picky about her food.
