VARIOUS ARTISTS (Artist) Format: Vinyl Disco WA-21898846 Editorial Review
The ZYX Italo Disco Collection has generated a mix of excitement and disappointment among customers, primarily focusing on the quality of the vinyl pressings. Praised for its rich tracklist that features rare and historical gems of the Italo Disco genre, many vinyl enthusiasts were initially thrilled to discover this 3-disc set, particularly at the price point offered by ZYX. The anticipation was compounded by nostalgia for ZYX’s earlier releases, which set high expectations. However, the reception was notably marred by Consistent complaints regarding the pressing quality of the discs. Customers reported significant issues such as loud pops and clicks throughout the tracks, rendering the records virtually unplayable for both personal enjoyment and public use. While expectations for minor imperfections were understood due to the four tracks per side, the level of noise reported fell far below what vinyl aficionados typically accept. This discrepancy has disappointed enthusiasts who otherwise appreciate ZYX's dedication to the genre and express a strong desire for the return of high-quality vinyl pressings. Despite the shortcomings of this compilation, there remains an encouraging call for ZYX to produce more vinyl compilations in the future, reinforcing the loyal support for the label among fans of Italo Disco. **
