  • Question: Has anybody found the free end of the twine?

    Answer: If you use the free end on the outside of the ball it will not dispense freely. You have to find the end that is tucked in the middle or create a free end from a middle loop.
  • Question: Does it have a built-in cutter for the twine?

    Answer: No, it does not. You can use a small pair of scissors held around the tin by a rubber band as an alternative.
  • Question: How do you open it?

    Answer: The top part that string slides through slides right off easily.
  • Question: Does the hole grip the twine so that it doesn't fall into the dispenser?

    Answer: No, the hole does not grip the twine. However, the twine disappearing back into the dispenser hasn't been a problem.
  • Question: How does the twine unwind?

    Answer: Unwind from the center of the ball of twine.
  • Question: Does the holder weigh enough to resist if you pull with one hand?

    Answer: No, the container is very light and one out of every five pulls may cause the string to jam up.
  • Question: How long does it take to find the loose end in the center?

    Answer: Can vary, took my cat ten minutes - sarcasm intended.
  • Question: Is this twine fine enough for making tea bags?

    Answer: The twine is pretty heavy duty, so it may not be suitable for making tea bags. However, this is just a guess.
  • Question: Is it made in the USA?

    Answer: Not marked on the container, but norpro products are made in the USA. The steel it is made of may have been imported.
