The Cultures for Health Mild Yogurt Starter Culture is a DIY non-GMO probiotic that includes four packets of direct-set powder yogurt culture with Lactobacillus acidophilus. The ingredients include lactose, live active cultures of Bifidobacterium lactis, Lactobacillus acidophilus, Lact. delbrueckii subsp.bulgaricus, lactis, and Streptococcus thermophilus. This starter culture generally makes a mild flavored yogurt that can be flavored with fruit, sweeteners, or other additives after incubation. However, the starter requires fresh culture for each new batch and cannot be used continuously over multiple batches. The yogurt made with raw milk is generally thinner and looser than pasteurized milk yogurt. Users can thicken their raw milk yogurt by draining whey using butter muslin or a tight-weave cloth, among other methods available for thickening yogurt. Feedback from customers includes dissatisfaction with the product's quality control, as some packets were dead on arrival or had packaging that had been tampered with before arrival. Proper instructions were followed, but the yogurt did not set up or work, resulting in a sour milk taste that was unappetizing.
