The Foodsaver Wide Mouth Jar sealer attachment is designed for standard metal disposable wide-mouth canning lids such as Kerr or Ball, it removes oxygen from the jar preserving dry goods such as beans, rice, sugar, and flour. The blue seal inside the lid should be twisted and removed from the jar after the vacuum is complete. The sealer cap isn't compatible with regular sized jars, Tattler or Weck lids, it can be used with mason jars up to a gallon size. The cap is removed once the vacuum is complete. The vacuum sealer lid doesn't replace pressure canning but can extend the lifetime of food by months.
