Prestone AS105 Total Cooling System Cleaner is designed to clean the entire cooling system, including the heater core, radiator, and hoses. It is easy to use; just add one 22 oz bottle to up to 12 quarts of water and let it sit in the system until the desired results are achieved. Some users recommend driving the vehicle around for a day before flushing the system out with clean water a couple of times until the water looks clean. The cleaner is safe for all components of the cooling system and does not harm the engine. It can be used repeatedly for stubborn lime deposits. However, if the size of the leak is significant, it may not dissolve, so it is recommended to drain off some fluid. While there are two sets of instructions, for severe buildup, some users report that they did not find the driving instructions on the label. It is not clear whether the product works on oil spills or white buildup. On the other hand, it is reported to work well in removing lime deposits.
