Are these microwave-safe?
Answer: There is no indication either way, on the box or in their catalog, if they are microwave safe. It is stated that they are safe for temperatures up to 600F/315C, as well as dishwasher safe. Since there is nothing in the literature about being safe in the microwave, I don't think I would trust using them in there. -

Can you use these with a gas range?
Answer: Yes you can use them on a gas range. They sit on the edge of the pot and hold the lid up so steam escapes and the pot doesn't boil over. They work great. -
Question:
Are they ovenproof?
Answer: They are silicone, so likely they are okay, but Tovolo's website does not indicate that they are oven-safe. -
Question:
How do I get rid of the smell?
Answer: You can try soaking them in lemon juice overnight, and then washing them with dish soap, rinsing thoroughly. Alternatively, you can wash them with soapy water, rinse well, and air dry. You can also put them in the top rack of your dishwasher. -
