It cannot be poured directly over oil-based products. However, it is suitable for use on paper sealed with mod podge, poly resin lightweight plastic, and pebble aggregate bathroom flooring, as long as the resin is sanded first. Each mixture/application should be assessed individually for FDA compliance or food safety. Several customers have had issues with bubbling or tackiness, but some have had excellent results, particularly regarding UV resistance and clarity. The thickness of the epoxy and short setup time appear to be the main criticisms, as they can lead to ridges in the finish.
