The Sangean ATS-909X2 is a multi-band radio that receives FM, SW, MW, LW and Air Band frequencies. It has excellent FM and SW reception, and the air band/scanning saved frequencies work very well. The radio also has a rotating dial that is easy to use and has an intuitive step button in the middle. The radio is well-built and pleasant sounding; the sound is warm with easily adjustable tone controls and/or bandwidth filters. It has a whip antenna which picks up ham radio frequencies well. Firmware issues, such as low volume and the device locking up, however, have been reported by some users. The Sangean ATS-909X2 is charcoal grey in colour, and the battery compartment spring is soft. It does not have a BFO switch but has a SSB button that lets you switch between AM, USB, and LSB.
