The Gavel and Sound Block set is a well-crafted and visually pleasing addition to any courtroom or office. The golden plate is easily removable for engraving and the handle can be unscrewed as well. The gavel is made of a dark wood lacquer that almost appears black, however, there is a slight red tint that is barely visible. The base doubles as a sound block and is also made of wood. The set is larger than expected, which makes for a commanding presence. Although there were some reports of scratches and dents upon delivery, the majority of customers found the product to be well-packaged and in good condition.
