How much thread is on each spool?
Answer: I am not sure, but I repaired my carpet snags from the dog, and I also repaired my neighbors old carpet, that didn't really have any backing to sew through. I love my kit. I used the small curved needle, and the right color thread, and you can't tell at all what I did. Looks great. There was lots of thread, I would never go through a spool in the kit. -

Can you use this to sew leather on a hat?
Answer: It should not be a problem. I used to repair leather seat seam tear of Camaro SS. Repair is undetectable. -

Can any of these be used to reattach buttons to a couch?
Answer: You might be able to, but this is not really the right kit. You need a button backer and tufting needle, or there are other backers you can insert using needle nose plyers. Caviot: this info would be for a button going on the back of a couch. For a pillow, you need a needle long enough to get through the entire cushion. I am by no means am appolstery guy, so there may be lots of other options. -

Answer: No, this item will come with a frosted zipper bag -

Answer: no, however there are a lot of videos on YouTube that do show you how to use the tools. -

Answer: General carpet is no problem, our thread is very strong and suitable for most carpets, hope it can help you! -

Is this thread cotton, polyester or nylon?
Answer: I believe the thread is cotton. -
Question:
Would that work for a full chair upholstery? Will I need all of the items or do I just go with needles?
Answer: I only used it to repair a couch cushion so you will probably need a lot more thread.
