Question:
What materials can this adhesive be used on?
Answer: This adhesive can be used on neoprene, nylon, canvas, leather, rubber, and GORE-TEX fabric. -
Question:
How long does it take to cure?
Answer: It cures in 8-12 hours to a flexible urethane rubber. -
Question:
Is this product resistant to scratches and abrasions?
Answer: Yes, it resists abrasions and scratches and protects gear from scrapes and scratches. -
Question:
How is this different from the normal AquaSeal?
Answer: This product is normal Aquaseal. It is available from our store in tubes of 0.75oz or 8oz. -
Question:
I need to bond a large patch of pvc plastic over a big hole in my pvc plastic inflatable kayak. Will this bond pvc to pvc?
Answer: HH-66 cement with a vinyl patch works great on inflatable kayaks and boats. This product does not work well when attempting to apply a patch. It works better on inflatable kayaks/boats if you’re trying to patch a pinhole or small hole in a seam. Place aquaseal on the hole/seam and it will spread/flatten out. Just allow it to fully dry - I just let it set for 24hrs before inflating. -
Question:
What is the shelf-life for aquaseal?
Answer: Once the tube has been opened it will last anywhere from 2 months to 12 months depending on storage and the amount of moisture present. It is recommended to store in a low moisture area to increase shelf life. -
Question:
Will this work on a bicycle inner tube made of butyl ?
Answer: Aquaseal should work well. An additional patch made of the same butyl should be put over the puncture and it should work. -
Question:
Do you recommend for gore tex Adidas Terrex?
Answer: Another product by Gear Aid that we carry called Freesole Shoe and Boot Repair is recommended. Aquaseal+FD is used mostly for waders, and wetsuits. It should only be used if the area in need of repair has the same type of material as waders, or wetsuits. -
Question:
I need to fix a small puncture on my paddleboard. What psi will this hold up to? or is it only for neoprene and not-pressure items?
Answer: Aquaseal+FD is an excellent choice for inflatable paddleboard repair. It should hold the psi that your paddleboard will need. -
Question:
Unconventional use question, would this work to adhere a tiny chip of cement in my outdoor garden fountain?
Answer: It would probably work okay but there are several better options that are more aggressive and permanent such as 3M 5200 fast cure or Gorilla Glue Max construction adhesive or a Tripolymer sealant. -
Question:
I need to patch a small tear on a dive mask. Once cured, is this safe to be near my mouth and nose?
Answer: Once cured it should not emit any vaporous odors. As long as you don’t consume it, it should be safe to have on or near your skin. -
Question:
Would this work to glue a canvas stove jacket to a canvas tent?
Answer: It is flexible, but it is not known how well or long it would last with canvas. -
Question:
Will this re-glue the inner shoe tongue back to the inside of the shoe?
Answer: It would probably work, but super glues or locktite would be more appropriate to use on shoes.
